Client context

Capabilities

Client context

Shadow can access any previous work products from other chats or client files that have been uploaded to the client's workspaces.

What Shadow reads

  • The client's profile. Company overview, website, category, target market, initial request. The overview is read on every piece of work for that client.
  • Files you have uploaded to the client's workspaces.
  • Documents You, a team member, or Shadow, have already produced for the client.

Set up a client so drafts land

1. Create the client

There are two ways to add clients to Shadow.

  1. From the Dashboard page: Click the Add client button in the top right. Only the company name is required, and website is recommended.

  2. From chat: Tell Shadow to "Add a new client called [Client name]"

2. Upload relevant context

Go to the client's General workspace, or create a new one if you prefer, then Upload files:

  • Past submissions, proposals, and pitches you were happy with
  • Messaging and positioning documents
  • Bios, case studies, metrics, customer proof
  • Call notes and briefs
  • Data exports for reports

Supported file types: docx, xls, csv, pdf, md, txt, html, pptx, json.

Workspaces

Every client starts with a General workspace. Add workspaces when a client has distinct workstreams, and nest them if it helps. If you need to move a document to another workspace you can do so from the document's actions menu.
